Sino-French GBA Business Summit and the 6th Anniversary Celebration of the GBA Entrepreneur Union is held in Guangzhou Dr. Choi: To promote a high level of opening up in the GBA

On November 17, 2023, jointly organized by the GBA Entrepreneur Union, the CCI France Chine(CCIFC), the Consulate General of France in Guangzhou and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee, Sino-French GBA Business Summit and the 6th Anniversary Celebration of the GBA Entrepreneur Union was held in Guangzhou. More than 400 Chinese and French political and business representatives and entrepreneurs attended the conference. Dr. Jonathan Choi, Standing Committee Member of CPPCC, Chairman of GBA Entrepreneur Union and Sunwah Group, Mr. Bertrand Lortholary, French Ambassador to China, Mr. Chen Xiaofeng, President of CCPIT Guangdong Committee and Guangdong International Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Chen Guangjun, Deputy Director of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office attended and delivered speeches. Dr Ernard Chan, Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and Mr Yu Yusheng, Chairman of the Investment and Trade Promotion Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, delivered video speeches.

Dr. Choi pointed out that China unswervingly pursues the win-win strategy of opening up, and the GBA is a strategic hub for China to participate in the construction of the "Belt and Road" and promote multilateral cooperation such as the RCEP agreement and the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific. He revealed that the Union will organize a delegation to "go out" next month, explore business opportunities in the EU, ASEAN, the Middle East and other countries, build an exchange platform with political and business leaders and entrepreneurs of various countries, and help a high level of openness and economic development.

The GBA Entrepreneur Union, Guangdong International Chamber of Commerce and CCIFC signed a memorandum of cooperation at the summit.

At the summit, outstanding business representatives from China and France made signings, keynote speeches and roundtable discussions on the topics of the GBA project cooperation, innovation, rapid development of science and technology and sustainability, which received warm responses. A dinner was held that evening.
