On June 24, 2025, during the 16th Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin, Mr. H.E. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, met with Dr. Jonathan Choi, Standing Committee Member of CPPCC, Chairman of Sunwah Group, Vietnam's VinaCapital, Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on supporting Vietnam's international financial center development, cooperation in high-tech and green energy sectors, and facilitating Sunwah Group's expansion in Vietnam.

The forum was attended and addressed by Mr. H.E. Phạm Minh Chính, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mr. Zhang Gong, Deputy Secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Committee and Mayor ; Dr. Jonathan Choi, Standing Committee Member of CPPCC, Chairman of Sunwah Group, Vietnam's VinaCapital, Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance and Bohai Rim Entrepreneurs Alliance. They discussed major plans for China-Vietnam cooperation and development.

To support mainland enterprises in expanding overseas markets in an orderly, effective and secure manner, Dr. Jonathan Choi, Standing Committee Member of CPPCC, Chairman of the Guangdong-HK-Macao Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance, Shenzhen Qianhai HK Chamber of Commerce and Sunwah Group, led a Greater Bay Area economic and trade delegation to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, Vietnam, from June 11 to 14, 2025. The delegation met with Vietnamese government leaders and Chinese diplomatic missions in Vietnam, conducted field visits to local enterprises and industrial parks, and organized two business matching events between Vietnam and the Greater Bay Area to deepen regional cooperation.

The two sides held discussions on the BFA and ways to promote regional economic and trade cooperation.
